The Power of Asking What If We Did It This Way?
Make customers feel like they matter, and they'll stay.
In a crowded or noisy market, differentiating yourself is critical. Often we look at how successful companies, leaders, and brands are doing things and let that lead our decision-making process.
We should be like [company x] or Let's copy how [X CEO] does it.
More often than not, replicating the habits of others works (to some degree of success). But in a noisy world, distinguishing your brand requires going outside the norms. There is another option, and it starts with What if.
- What if we focused on loyalty as much as revenue
- What if we focused on a user's story, not our own
- What if we gave Customers free support one day a week
- What if we gave Customers rewards for their ideas
What if you challenged the status quo and did something different; how would that make you feel if you were on the receiving end? And the difference doesn't need to be a big thing. It can be tiny, but several slight differences can add to mean something much bigger. Celebrate the little victories.
So, when you look at your goals, ask yourself, what if I did something different to get there? Would that make you stand out from the rest of the noise?
